MOSCOW, Mar 16 (PRIME) -- Russian metals giant Norilsk Nickel expects its sales to rise in 2023 after poor performance in 2022, Anton Belrin, head of the company’s sales and commerce department, said in a conference on Thursday.
When asked whether the company’s sales would rise this year, he said, “It will grow, but it will happen compared to the bad year of 2022.”
“The previous year was very difficult. It was akin to running through a moving labyrinth. We saw more and more obstacles emerging unexpectedly, but we bypassed them. Signing of contracts is the basis of our work, and some of our business partners introduced voluntary restrictions even though our company was not hit by sanctions.”
Norilsk Nickel has started looking into other cooperation forms besides simple sale contracts, and wants to achieve industrial integration now in the battery sector in the first place.
“Our goal is simple -- we want to mix with the industry on the one hand, and on the other, we would like to make taking us out of it as painful as possible for the global economy,” he said.
